From content sharing to content creation

MVO Vlaanderen

The Challenge

MVO Vlaanderen is an initiative by the Flemish Government, department of work and social economy (WSE). The starting and meeting location for all those interested in societally responsible enterprise. The website offers a broad range of instruments and information to help organizations to put mvo into practice.

For content follow-up, WSE is working with Brand Senses. Our mission: to significantly increase interest in the theme of societally responsible and sustainable enterprise.

Green Idea

Draw the attention of Flemish SMEs by shifting from content sharing to content creation. Brand Senses contacts small and medium-sized start-ups in order to convert their practical experience into a source of inspiration for others.

We also urge all organizations to sign up at www.mvovlaanderen.be. This allows them to provide news items and events for the agenda, share experiences, exchange information, … themselves.

Companies with questions for info@mvovlaanderen.be receive personalized responses via us.

We provide the target group with a focus by connecting the themes from the communications on the website, Twitter, and LinkedIn with the seven pillars of the mvo scan: honest business, being a good employer, respecting human rights, consumer care, responsible environmental policy, sound management, and societal involvement.

Groovy Love

Around these seven mvo themes, we developed a sense of community within the Flemish socio-economic sectors. We invite companies and/or persons to engage in debate, with a moderating tone. This way we help to enhance the authenticity and maturity of MVO Vlaanderen.

Using social media but also offline, with the mvo table: a striking, atypical, and visually strong booth, available for conferences and corporate events. Visitors to the mvo table are invited to share their questions on societal or sustainable enterprise. All who sign up for the mvo newsletter receive a small plant with a label that refers to the MVO Vlaanderen website.

Great results

The Google Analytics report from late 2017 demonstrates that use of the MVO Vlaanderen website grew by over 20 % compared to the same period the preceding year. The number of users increased by 23.4 %. This means a 20.4 % increase in sessions and a 20 % increase in page views. This exceeds expectations by half.

The Twitter analysis from February 2018 compared to February 2017 shows that, with a 60 % increase in tweets, the number of visits to the MVO Vlaanderen profile was more than doubled. During the same period, the number of tweet views went up almost by a factor of four (+ 378 %) and the number of mentions grew even more by about 550 %.

Both on and offline, we make every effort to increase exposure. This way, www.mvovlaanderen.be is slowly taking its place as the beating heart of the mvo community within Flanders and far beyond.
